During his whirlwind visit to New Zealand last month, Chef Alan Yu visited Mountain River Processors in Rakaia, Canterbury. Here he had an inside look into how we operate and process our venison.
Alan was impressed with the cleanliness and quality control over the product, along with the care that the staff took with their work.
He also recognised some familiar packaging from his time as a chef in the USA:
Along the way, Alan took some photos of his own to share with his 160,000 WeChat followers!
The staff of Mountain River Processors were able to have a good chat with both Alan and Hunter during the tour, and the feedback from Alan was that he enjoyed his first visit to a processing plant in around 28 years.
