Mountain River Venison and Mountain River Processors Working Together
The Mountain River brand is owned by the owners of the factory and the farm. When the business was set up Doug Hood had the idea that the industry need to be more integrated from the farm through to the market. Doug Hood owned Mount Hutt Station and Northbank Station, the farm around the factory.
Mount Hutt Station is now owned by Keith Hood's family and remains a committed supplier to Mountain River. Northbank Station is a finishing unit and provides a core supply role to the processing and marketing operation. In this way the business is able to offer year-round supply to the market.
